Have you ever been at the track and heard someone driving a really loud RC? You also may have noticed that their truck is sluggish with very little punch. If this is your RC, or you want to avoid having an SC10 with no punch, then you need to regularly maintain your SC10's transmission.

The SC10GT is an exciting and unique release by Team Associated. Until now, nitro-powered Short Course trucks have all been 1/8th scale models. With the SC10GT, Associated has brought affordable nitro-powered RC to the 1/10th scale Short Course Truck that we all love.

This truck and RTR kit is a great way for anyone looking to get into the nitro side of RC. Check out the details below...

If you have a stripped screw on your SC10 you are not alone. Stripped screws are a common problem, especially when using cheap tools provided with a new kit.

First lets talk about what to do if you already have a stripped screw. The best way to get a stripped screw out is to use pliers (needle nose are the best). This process can be very tedious and you can break other parts if you are not careful. The goal here is to just get that screw to turn out enough to get your pliers around the head. If you are unable to get pliers around the screwhead, then we have bigger problems. At this point I would suggest that most people take their truck to their local hobby shop or watch this video - Stripped Screw Head Removal

A TeamSC10.com reader sent us a great link that outlines the basics of tuning the suspension on an off-road RC. This article through each tuning option and explains how it will affect performance.

Team Associated met the demand for a smaller scale Short Course Truck when they created the SC10's little brother, the SC18. The SC18 offers realistic 1/18th scale short course racing in an affordable RTR package for $159.95. If you are unsure about buying a larger 1/10th scale truck, like the SC10, here are some reasons why the SC18 may be a better truck for you.

SC10 Brushless RTR Review

Let's face it, brushed motors and NiMh battery packs have been left in the dust by Brushless motors and LiPo batteries. Thankfully Associated has finally delivered the SC10 Brushless RTR that we have all been waiting for. Now you can get the awesome Brushless power and long LiPo runtimes in the SC10 RTR package.

SC10 RTR vs SC10 Kit

In most situations, we believe everyone should buy and build their own SC10 Kit. Ready-To-Run's (RTRs) are nice if you want instant gratification, but building a kit sets you up for long-term success. When building your kit, you will learn the intricacies of your vehicle - replacing, repairing, and rebuilding your SC10. While you can always rely on your LHS to help with repairs, you don’t want to be clueless when the LHS is unavailable.

Most local hobby shops prefer to sell the RTR versions, mostly because they can offer more competitive prices and they are easier to sell to someone new to RC. The problem is that RTR's allow you to skip the valuable learning experience of building a kit. If you don't think you will enjoy building your RC car, then this sport may not be for you. Repairs and maintenance are large part of RC and someone who dreads taking apart and rebuilding their Truck will lose interest quickly.

SC10 Differential Options

There are two options when choosing a differential for your SC10...

1. You can keep the Associated SC10 Gear Differential that comes with your SC10 kit or RTR.

2. OR, buy the Associated SC10 Ball Differential.

Team Associated SC10 RS RTR

The SC10 RS RTR is the latest version of the SC10 RTR released by Team Associated. The SC10 RS (which stands for "Race-Spec") is basically the same thing as an SC10 Brushless RTR with some added hop-ups and features.

Here are the notable features that make the SC10 RS RTR special:

SC10 Setup Tips

Team Associated did a much needed redesign of their website a few months ago. One practical improvement was that they made the Setup Sheets easy to find for the SC10.

In an organized table, they have listed a link to download the Setup Sheet, the name of the driver, the track the setup was used on, and the conditions of the track. They have SC10 setup tips for just about any racing surface.
